What we do, and what is included

Seven services for homes, landlords and small businesses. Every job ends with testing and the right certificate, whatever its size.

For your home

Full rewires

Old rubber or early PVC wiring, no earth on the lighting, a board full of fuses: a rewire sorts all of it at once. We plan the new sockets and lights with you first, then work room by room so you can stay in the house.

What is included

  • New cabling, sockets and switches throughout
  • New metal consumer unit
  • Smoke and heat alarms to current rules
  • Electrical Installation Certificate

Typical time: 4 to 7 days for a 3 bedroom house

Fuse board upgrades

If your board still has pull-out fuses, or trips with no obvious reason, a new consumer unit with RCBO protection on each circuit is the single biggest safety upgrade in most homes. Every circuit is tested before we switch you back on.

What is included

  • Metal consumer unit with RCBOs
  • Surge protection where required
  • Every circuit tested and labelled
  • Electrical Installation Certificate

Typical time: Usually one day, power off for a few hours

EV chargers

We check your supply and board first, then fit a smart charger where it suits your driveway, with the cable run kept tidy and out of the way. We handle the notice to your network operator.

What is included

  • Supply and load check before we quote
  • Smart charger, installed and set up
  • Dedicated circuit and protection
  • Network operator notification

Typical time: Half a day for most homes

Solar panels and batteries

We survey the roof and your board first, then fit the panels, the inverter and a battery if you want one, kept out of lofts, bedrooms and escape routes. We deal with your network operator and set up the app, so you can see what the panels make.

What is included

  • Roof and supply survey before we quote
  • Panels, inverter and optional battery
  • Network operator paperwork (G98 or G99)
  • MCS certificate, needed for export payments

Typical time: 1 to 2 days, plus scaffold

Fault finding

Some faults take ten minutes, some take a morning. We tell you what we have found before fixing anything, and we don't swap parts on a guess.

What is included

  • Methodical testing, circuit by circuit
  • A plain explanation of the cause
  • Fixed there and then where we can
  • Anything dangerous made safe before we leave

Typical time: From ten minutes to a morning

What is included

  • Full inspection and testing
  • Report within 48 hours
  • Clear list of anything to fix

Questions people ask us

Anything else, give us a ring on 01632 960 418.

Do we need to move out during a rewire?

Usually not. We work room by room and get the lights and a few sockets back on at the end of each day. Most three bedroom houses take four to seven days.

Will you have to lift floors and cut into walls?

Some, yes. Cables are chased into the walls and run under a few lifted floorboards. We put the boards back and leave the walls ready for the plasterer.

How long is the power off for a new fuse board?

A few hours, usually in the middle of the day. Every circuit is tested before we switch you back on.

Do you tell the network operator about a new EV charger?

Yes. Every home charger has to be notified, and we do it for you. We also check that your supply and fuse board can take the extra load before we quote.

How often does a rented home need an electrical report?

At least every five years, with a copy for your tenants. In Scotland, any appliances you provide need testing too, and we can do both in one visit.

Where does a solar battery go?

Somewhere safe and easy to reach, usually a garage or an outside wall. Never in a loft, a bedroom or an escape route like a hallway or stairs.

Not sure what you need?

Give us a ring or send a few details. We get back to everyone within two working days.
